Racing for the FAST40+ Class at Lendy Cowes Week was called off early this morning, Thursday 3rd August. Gusts of over 30 knots were recorded on the Bramble Bank, and with every indication that the southwesterly buster would continue all day, the race committee called of racing for the day.

Phil Hagen, Regatta Director, Cowes Week Limited confirmed that Race 6 was officially abandoned, meaning there will be one more race scheduled to complete Lendy Cowes Week, for the FAST40+ Class.

Sir Keith Mills’ Ker40+ Invictus leads the class by one point from Peter Morton’s CF40+ Girls on Film. However under the rules of the regatta, if one more race is completed, all FAST40+ teams will discard their worst score. If either team wins the last race, they will be Lendy Cowes Week Champions. However, currently Girls on Film have a higher discard, than Invictus.

Racing for the Fast40+ Class is expected to resume tomorrow, Friday 4th August, at 1100, the last race of Lendy Cowes Week for the FAST40+ Class. Live news, pictures and videos will be available on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FAST40UK/.
